the cow is a sculpture
probably iron was poured into the mold

looking at the bottom
it was rough

this fall
when I visited Akita’s older brother

when I asked the location of the cow statue that my father cherished

my brother said, “It’s gone.”

So
I bought the cow statue at auction

before noon
the cow arrived

I think my father liked the cow

the cow is lying
looking here

I have received a pair of parakeets from my father
it died in Akebonobashi’s apartment

I didn’t talk to my father until the end
but I understood him

昼前
その牛は届いた

その牛は
彫刻というか

鋳型に鉄を流したものだろう

底を見ると
粗いものだった

この秋に
秋田の兄を見舞ったとき

父が大切にしていた牛の像の場所を聞いたら
兄は

もう
ないという

それで
その牛と似た像を

オークションでもとめた

昼前

その牛は
届いた

父はその牛が好きだったのだろう

牛は

寝そべって
こちらを見ている

父からインコのつがいを貰ったことがある

曙橋のアパートで
死なせてしまった

最後まで父とは話さなかったが
父を理解していた
