put out a picture of Masahiko Kuwahara

I was looking

dawn
at the desk

drowsy
“He drinks to excess”

of such a title
a series of words

I wrote one

the sun rises
I finished writing the New Year’s card

I hung a picture of Kuwahara’s “girl” at the entrance
I drove to the post office with my woman

evening
I drank “White Horse”

then
I was watching “Diary of Air” by Yasuhiro Yotsumoto

he has a mother-in-law in Yokohama
he had his father in fukuoka

He had his wife and children in Munich

there was Du Fu
there was Santoka

there was Ami

maybe
from a young age

there must have been a window in his eyes

I can’t put into words what I don’t understand
I am Listening to John Coltrane’s “My Favorite Things”

夜中に
桑原正彦の絵を出して

見てた

明け方
机で

うとうとして
“He drinks to excess”

というタイトルの
ことばの連なりを

ひとつ
書いた

日が昇って
賀状を

書き終えた

玄関に少女の絵を掛けた
女と車で郵便局まで行った

夕方には
白馬を飲んだ

それから四元康祐さんの”空気の日記”を見ていた

横浜に義母がいて
福岡に父がいた

ミュンヘンに妻と子どもたちがいた

杜甫がいて
山頭火がいた

阿弥がいた

たぶん
小さな時から

眼には窓があったのだろう

わからないことはことばにできない
コルトレーンの”My Favorite Things”を聴いている
